problems to keep servern current?

Folks,

excuse me, if my questions has been discussed before.

What is the preferred way to keep severn up2date?

At Redhat Network the Severn Beta channel seems to be inactive at the
moment (I get the message my fresh installation of severn is fully
updated).

I tried yum, as mentioned in some postings (yum update) and it did a lot
of work. It downloads Rawhide files (and freshrpm), but no special
severn updates. And it doesn't work, e.g. for XFree86 or evolution,
because of unavailable prerequisites.

Thanks
Peter
