The addition of the "acpi=on" boot parameter worked somewhat. I get a PID for acpid now, but the /etc/acpi/events/sample.conf file doesn't work. It indicates that the machine will shut down when the power button is pressed. However, pressing the power button does nothing. Is there something else I need to do other than file a bug?
