This is the way to go, since it works system-wide. The long-term
solution is for Adobe to FIX ACROREAD - either so that it doesn't crash
on utf8 locales, or at least so that it's shipped to reset the locale
before launching. They've had a KB article on this issue since at least
5.0.5 :-(
