Not to start a religious war but I suspect there are a lot of postfix users
that would dispute that. I do not run a high volume site so I cannot comment
from first hand experience but I have seen some discussions in the past about
resource requirements of sendmail vs postfix and the people involved seem to
think postfix wins hands down. It would be interesting to put their data up
against your dad's data. Unfortunately I doubt that is possible given none of
the parties mentioned are involved in this discussion. :-)

If sendmail is really in trouble then I would submit that that is an indication
of how the market in general feels about their product. OTOH maybe it hust means
that the other free products including their own are good enough for most people.
