Sound check on first boot ...will never work if ALSA is muted!

It works on the second try to play a sound. A bug was filed on the 
problem when test2 came out.


I don't know if this is the case for all soundcards. It was for my AC 
97' soundcard. I only installed once. I can't tell you if this is a 
repeatable problem.
