(replying to myself here) - Unless others can reporduce this - I'll
assume I have hardware problems. PCMCIA 'socket 0' appears to give
these error messages (including the following additional messages with
kernel-2.6.5-1.326). However PCMCIA 'socket 1' appears to work..
