Noticed I had the same situation with .rpmnew files, so did the above
followed by "fixfiles relabel" in a text-console (init 3) login, not
single user, (selinux enabled but in permissive mode).  Got the
following:

Cleaning out /tmp
/usr/sbin/setfiles:  read 1442 specifications
/usr/sbin/setfiles:  invalid context system_u:object_r:usbtty_device_t on line number 212

Will try again after a reboot to single user before reporting, but this
looks like a different bug.
