Add it to the kernel line in /etc/grub.conf

(i.e.)

title Fedora Core (2.6.5-1.327smp)
    root (hd0,2)
    kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.5-1.327smp ro root=/dev/hda5 rhgb quiet selinux=0
    initrd /initrd-2.6.5-1.327smp.img
