You seem to be talking in riddles here.  I'm sure its lack of
understanding on my part.  But you didn't answer if you'd read that
discussion.   It goes on at some length about the difference between
gnome and real xterm.  The participants are people heavily involved in
coding the patches, debugging etc.  Including Thomas Dickey who wrote
and continues to upgrade patch etc, xterm.
