I am not sure in what circumstances the above line from xorg.conf
fails to work but so far it works for me (currently
xorg-x11-6.7.0-2). Maybe when you are starting to play with a
keyboard preferences in gnome then they override that option?
I definitely agree with a "would just suck" opinion. :-)
