Annoying flashing in gnome-terminal

That is called "visual bell", and it is handy for the hearing impaired 
or the easily annoyed :)

.inputrc:

set prefer-visible-bell
set bell-style visible

.tcshrc:

set visiblebell

.emacs:

(setq visible-bell t)

There should be a gnome-terminal setting for this, too, although I
can't check right now...
