See bugzilla # 121840.  Version 4.0.3-1 fixes the basic problem, but if 
you have selected KDE and then want to select Gnome from KDE, the gui 
already shows Gnome as default, but to make it really change to Gnome, 
you need to first select KDE and then select Gnome.  It will then switch 
to Gnome.  The bug report listed above has this information.
