I actually tried this yesterday - but I don't think I actually downloaded
ALL of the updates.  I'm not actually sure which update did help ... but if
you're having resolution problems:
1.  Make sure you're as updated as you're comfortable with
2.  Uncomment the lines in your xorg.conf as Phil Anderson noted
3.  Restart your xserver if currently running.
