I doubt if that'll help Kim's case. I don't actually think his is
related to the ide+reiserfs error below, where a (probably not CD) drive
that's been running for 20000 hours dies one morning, though.

Doubt it.

When in doubt, debug-on-entry the function you least suspect has
anything to do with something.
