Xsane question

I have an HP PSC 2175xi which prints fine, and I was using xsane to scan
pictures on Fedora Core 2. I'm currently running the 667 kernel and last
night when I tried running xsane it told me it could not find a device.
Printing has worked on the FC3 kernels all along - this is the first
time I've tried the scanner. Is there anything special I need to do to
get the system to locate the scanner? The printer is on a USB port...
