You actually do that unless you are running 'yum clean all' after
you finished with updates. Look around in subdirectories of
/var/cache/yum/. Try 'find /var/cache yum -name "*.rpm"' and check
what you got. See also in 'man yum' what are effects of various
'clean' options.
