OOO not auto-saving by default

If I am remembering correctly, Excel up to Office XP (not tried 2003),
actually needed a "module" to be installed to allow for automatic saves.
Talk about hoops...

I can't remember about word, but I am 99.99% sure that up to Office XP
this also does not auto save, but I may be wrong.
