/usr has vanished completely!

All the tools you would need in this sort of situation are in /sbin
and /bin.  Check to see what partitions should be mounted where:

	/bin/cat /etc/fstab

And then look and see what you actually have mounted:

	/bin/cat /proc/mounts

What you discover will define what you need to do next...
