The refresh problem hit me for several kernel versions after -541. I 
believe a few would work on the way to -624

Good work on isolating the particular option. I believe comment 28 of 
the below triage report for the i810 refresh bug listed that option 
also. There is another option to add there to see if your bearable 
becomes more bearable.
