totally different issue, the blank lines in mirror-list is harmless
producing a harmless but confusing message meant to inform the user
malformed url configurations.
the issue here is some odd interaction with the new /etc/yum.repo.d/  files
that were introduced..if i could only reproduce the problem.....

And when i was seeing a problem..the mirrorlist had already been
editted to remove the blank lines....so i know its not that.
