It looks like your X is actually halting on you and respawning.

I think that the respawning problem and the refresh might have some 
connection factor. I added my xorg.0.log as comparative information for 
the bug.

I'm still in favor of an i810 and i830 seperate driver. I'd hate for the 
Intel 845 card to break from patching the i815 graphicsa card problem. 
It was touchy with earlier versions of xorg-x11 (pre-CVS)
