Switching off selinux once a machine has booted

Hi,

I'm trying to find why I don't have /udev/dsp, /udev/fd0, /udev/loop0 -
loop7 & /udev/audio showing up as it's a bit too quiet here without xmms
playing.

When I try to access the files, even as root I get an error of
permission denied.

Is there anyway of switching off selinux to try and see what's gone
wrong on my system or is this more likely to be a udev problem which
needs bunging into bugzilla?

TTFN
