Yep.  Grub install uses the setup command many times at the grub prompt,
specifying real devices in Hurd notation.

OTOH, Grub install uses the grub-install command once at the bash
prompt, specifying RAID devices in Linux notation.

I've been reading the source to figure it out and it's not worth the
effort.

We'll go off into our nice dark corner, pull out our old package, and do
what we've always done.  Won't even mention its name.
