can't stop yum, must use kill -9

afair it was something like this, but i am not 100% sure.

# yum update  udev*
  -> no package,  oops ?

# yum update  udev\*
  -> udev, ok !

# yum update  ude*
  -> udev, ok !


this would be a problem with yum and not the shell.
