Which rpm are you thinking provides it?
It should be one of the compat-libstdc++ rpm's - current libstdc++
provides a different version of that library.

Try the following:

yum install compat-libstdc++-33

That is what provides it.

[testing at fc4t2 ~]$ rpm -qf /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.5
compat-libstdc++-33-3.2.3-47.fc4
[testing at fc4t2 ~]$
