The latest rawhide updates seem to have taken care of your problem.  But
judging from the error you got:

and Dave's message [1], I believe it's likely the error will pop up
again in the future.  The upstream kernels got picky about module
parameters, so you might want to get rid of these warnings (which I
suppose you're still getting).  I've seen cases where a single trailing
space in /etc/modprobe.conf prevented the kernel from loading a module.
