Wow.  All I can say is wow.

I had in my modprobe.conf the following: (note space at end)

'options scsi_mod max_luns=10  '

I did have this commented out, but I have been getting that strange
error message for a while.

Thanks a lot.  It is a good 'gotcha' to look for from now on.
