I think as inidicated by Jeremy, I can still reproduce this.  Below are the
messages from /var/log/messages when I insert iPod mini.  No obvious
messages in /var/log/audit/audit.log.

No 'mount points' in /media created, nothing mounted.....

[BTW, my iPod is FAT formatted.]
