Release notes for Fedora Core 5 test 1 release and your participation

my understanding from previous comments from kwade in the lists and in
irc was that beats needed to be picked by each "subproject" group of
developers instead of general volunteers from the at-large community.
For example the "desktop" developers need to pick someone to be the
desktop beat writer.

To qoute the message to fedora-maintainers from kwade on Sept 15th
" ** Deadline to Pick Beat Writer **

By 23 September, all sub-projects need to have picked the person who is
the beat writer for your part of the release notes.  This is effective
for FC5 and forward.  In other words, a beat may be handed-off, it may
not be abandoned."


Has this changed? Are beat writers now going to be assigned from the
at-large community instead of going through each subproject's
development team?
