FC5t2 install report -- not going well

I have tried to install FC5t2 on a laptop on which I have had FC4.  Since
FC5t2 has an option to upgrade, I chose that.  After a very long
installation (20+ hours) the X server failed to load.  I am currently
retrying to install FC5t2 as an upgrade.  If that fails again, I will try
installing as a new install.

The laptop is a generic laptop purchased by my university from a local
vendor.

I will post results on my progress as things progress.  Suggestions welcome.
