Iptables no longer starting after todays update

Hey, 

After todays update, iptables reclams when starting: (sorry, had to
translate from german...)

service iptables start
Delete Firewall-Regeln : iptables: Too many levels of symbolic links
iptables: Too many levels of symbolic links
                                                           [FAILED]
Set chain to ACCEPT ACCEPT: filter iptables: Invalid argument
                                                           [FAILED]
terminate iptables-Module :                                   [  OK  ]
use iptables Firewall-rules : iptables-restore v1.3.4: Can't set policy
`FORWARD' on `ACCEPT' line 5: Bad built-in chain name

                                                           [FAILED]


any idea of an iptables-guru?
