Thanks a lot for your clues, that helped me to understand what a Banner
was. A definition can be found here :
http://www.science.uva.nl/~mes/jargon/b/banner.html

However, the lpr man pages are not translated in French *yet*. I thougth
about a translation with a friend of mine and found a better translation
that the one I found.
