100% CPU and ~ 1.5Mbps disk = prefdm

It is prefdm.  Don't know why this happened but the first time I tried to
kill it, it dropped me out of X so I thought it wasn't it.  But I tried it
again and the 100% cpu and disk activity disappeared and X kept running!
