It is two years old.  There is a chance that it is not current in
every detail.

But if that worked that means that either your firewall is broken
or something else between you and sites with problems.  Yours
remark that turning off your firewall makes all sites accessible
strongly points to RV016.

You do not have to google for wireshark.  Just do

  yum install wireshark

and read docs.
