This is driving me crazy...wrong kernel boots up after installing new one

That's how I have mine set, and it still updates to default=1. Also, I 
see:

# DEFAULTKERNEL specifies the default kernel package type
DEFAULTKERNEL=kernel-xen

I don't want the xen kernel to be the default, just kernel. Should I say:
DEFAULTKERNEL=kernel instead?
