reboot in rescue mode, chroot:

# rpm -ivh *rpm
rpmdb: program version 4.3 doesn't match environment.
etc

where: *rpm is the newer kernel.

btw, at grub (from f8t1-dvd), choosing to boot from local drive actually
waits a key to reboot.
goin' to reinstall but choose to install grub.
