Yes, it would prevent 3.5.x updates from being tested. A solution
might be to start a semi-official repository offering backports of
KDE4 for F8, but from my (limited) experience with openSUSE Build
Service backport repos, the packages there tend to be not properly
tested, and sometimes different backport repositories don't even play
well together. So it's not a decision to be taken lightly either.
