libpurple

Dear all,

When
 doing a yum update -y from 
# 

I get the following about libpurple along with the failed updates for KDE.

Error: Missing Dependency: libsilcclient-1.0.so.1 is needed by package libpurple
Error: Missing Dependency: libsilc-1.0.so.2 is needed by package libpurple

What is libpurple?  by doing a
# yum update -y --exclude=libpurple

still the message appears.  Is libpurple very important here that excluding it from updating, still it complains about it.
