FC7 from rawhide : "display" menu unavaible ?

I only see 800 and 640. I worked around by editing xorg.conf as root and 
adding 1024x768 for resolution choises. Then using the path you 
mentioned, i could set resolution to 1024.
But so far, on fc one could see a "display" menu needing root passwd. 
*This is gone away...*
