Network should be up by that point, or at least configurable.  But yes,
USB stick is the other option, and normal mount and cp should be
working.

It would also be pleasant to see the X log from trying to use the radeon
driver without the MonitorLayout force.  I hope we at least see that
there's an LVDS panel attached and are just refusing to set it up for
some reason.
