F7 says 4473 cylinders FC6 says 4864 cylinders

This is the same hard drive only change is 
the version of Fedora that is using it.

If I load fc6 first and use all of the cylinders then Fedora 7
doesn't like it and wants to redo the partition table.

Also noticed that grub.conf gets moved to grub.conf.rpmsave.
But if you already have a grub.conf.rpmsave it gets written over.
Also splash.xpm.gz gets written over.

Fedora Core 6
