during install, what means "encrypt system"?

i had assumed that it was LUKS encryption, i just wasn't sure *which*
partitions would be encrypted.  is there no feature that allows you to
select which partitions to encrypt?  (it's perhaps further into the
install, i haven't made it that far yet.)
