F9 on Compaq Presario V5000

The laptop began running very slowly after updating.

I replaced Fedora with Ubuntu 8.04 (32 bit) and was able to
get Kismet installed and working.  I have not tested Kismet much,
but it does see my local net which is about all that is visible here.

Note - it was not necessary to get wireless networking to work
in order to run Kismet.
