Yum is a memory pig to the tune of 3GB

I tried it with today's updates and even though there were 41 updates, 3
installs and 2 removes including a kernel install/remove, the problem
didn't happen. Usage was around 500MB and though things weren't lightning
fast, they were a lot more reasonable than when it was using 3GB.
