Unfortunately, it's not always accurate, especially with newer cards.
For example, for a long time, it was identifying the unsupported
AR5007EG as the supported (at least by MadWifi at the time) AR5006EG.  
Even now, it usually says something like AR242 something or other.

Oh dear, you used Linpus?  What netbook was this?  I thought Acer was
the only one using Linpus.  If this is the Aspire one, it's fairly easy
to get working.
