Flash plugin - where?

It's 32-bit Fedora (with KDE) on a Thinkpad T43.

Maybe there is a setting to make Firefox look in /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins ?
I notice that browsing to "about:config" gives (among much other info)
  plugin_default_plugin_disabled true
but this is the default setting for this parameter.
