One thing I have found dealing with the new drivers in rawhide is that
while X (or perhaps gdm) crashes on start up fairly often, if you can
get started t6hing work pretty well. So if you see your monitor isn't
getting a signal try crtl alt backspace to see if you can get X going.
Usually it will work within about a half dozen tries if it is going to.
