Distorted/misrendered fonts, this time with Radeon instead of
Nvidia, are amply illustrated in pictures attached to

Some font settings tend to minimize the damage; OTOH I can make that
really bad at will.  Fedora 8 or 9, _on the same hardware_, does not
show that problem.
