I investigated Rhythmbox and :

before latest updates (but which broke functionality) I could listen
to any stream, now I have lost 50% of different kind of streams for
example if I connect to stream http://www.radiopopolare.it/liveU.asx
RB idles in connection, if I connect to stream
mms://vip6.yacast.fr/encodernostalgie I get an error, if I try to
connect to mms://fastreal.fastweb.it/RDS I get a popup for new codec
installation (28 Euro, that is strange for a free software..): and
where are all my gstreamer-plugins (good, bad, ugly and so
on??)gone????
