rawhide install report: failure

Latest rawhide test install. Fails in multiple ways.

1) vanilla - X starts (with radeon.modest=0) but the window is full of 
trash and never continues (20 minutes)

2) VNC - starts installing but quits with no error indications.  This is 
not the assertion failure I reported previously.

next) try with basic video driver - right now re-installing F11
